About Hema

Hema was born in Montreal, Canada in 1965 and moved to Ottawa when she was eight years old.  Although she mostly grew up in Ottawa, a lot of time was spent shuttling back and forth to Montreal for jobs, visiting parents and friends.  Hema studied electrical engineering and has worked in telecommunications for most of her career (too many years to mention!).  Above is a picture of Hema in kindergarten and below is a picture of Hema in a vacation in Acapulco when she was six years old.

This picture was taken in India when Hema was fourteen years old while she was attending her aunt's wedding.  It was her first time wearing a saree (can you tell?).
